Thank you Malaysia for all the pirated DVDs

Some international news agencies have misunderstood the recent censor ship of movies in Thailand. It is not the military government that has blocked the movie Syndromes and a Century by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. The movie that has shown in many countries has been stopped by the director because he did not want the scenes to be cut.

The last time they [the censors] had some spotlight on them was when they tried to block “The da Vinci code” and they also blocked “thank you for smoking” a movie that tells you not smoke but they did not get that if they even saw the movie.

Thank you Malaysia for sending us he Pirated DVD here so that we can look at the rest of the movies even the good ones.

lol…Malaysia as one of the largest pirated DVD producers receive thanks from a guy from our friendly neighbour in the north =)

    Just 19.9 Minutes…6th Quickest!

    via NST:

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians spend an average of 19.9 minutes when they make love.
Hardly the stuff romance novels are made of, they ranked sixth quickest in the world in terms of time spent in a love-making session.

However, if it’s any consolation, the average time spent is above the global average of 18.3 minutes.

India’s lovers were the world’s quickest, spending only 13.2 minutes per session.

Nigeria once again topped the ranking on a leisurely 23 minutes.
Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Australia were all well below the world average time.

haha…at least we beat 2 of our neighbours =)

    Best Beers in Asia!

Carlsberg (Malaysia) - I truly believe that the Carlsberg brewed in Malaysia is superior to the European version. I always relish going to Malaysia just because I know I can drink as much draft Carlsberg as possible. It just tastes so crisp. Thailand really lost a great beer when Chang fell out with Carlsberg and pushed them out of the market through legal action but thankfully it is still available in Malaysia and from what I understand they are starting to increase their activities all over Asia once again.

Could it be the water? The Carlsberg Export version in Europe tastes pretty much like the ones in Malaysia though, if I remember correctly.

Malaysian Middle-Class Chinese Like Shopping and New Condominiums

    via theStar columnist:

The Bangkok-based cartoonist, whose cartoons have also appeared in Sin Chew Daily, is no stranger to Malaysia. Lats books made him interested in Malaysian life.

Stephff finds many similarities between the middle class in Thailand and Malaysia. In Lats cartoons, there are Chinese who like shopping and new condominiums, which is similar in Thailand, he said in a thick French accent.

In the last 13 years, he has satirised Thailand, politically, culturally and socially. And his recurring themes are nepotism and cronyism.

This is a Thai-Chinese thing. Whenever you are in power, you have to share it with your family and friends, he said. Nepotism and cronyism are not bad in Asia. They make sense. You are supposed to help your family and friends.

Kinda true…except the condominiums part, I think Malaysian Chinese prefer landed property.
