xes wrote:

Unlike those unique advertisements in other countries such as Japan, Malaysia doesn’t have many unique advertisements which are blog worthy. However, the following advertisements are pretty unique.

Adhesive Tape advertisement - their tape is so good till it could stick their own advertisement.

Malaysia 23rd in World Competitiveness Index

via IMD:

The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2007 (WCY) analyses and ranks the ability of nations to create and maintain an environment that sustains the competitiveness of enterprises. Considered the worldwide reference point to world competitiveness, it has been published without interruption since 1989 and ranks 55 national economies using 323 crieria. The WCY is an indispensable tool for business leaders, government and academia.

Well, we were 22nd last year, dropped a rank but it still seems pretty healthy though, even beating Japan!

But if you wanna make it sound not so rosy, our neighbours down south is 2nd!

Just 19.9 Minutes…6th Quickest!

via NST:

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians spend an average of 19.9 minutes when they make love.
Hardly the stuff romance novels are made of, they ranked sixth quickest in the world in terms of time spent in a love-making session.

However, if it’s any consolation, the average time spent is above the global average of 18.3 minutes.

India’s lovers were the world’s quickest, spending only 13.2 minutes per session.

Nigeria once again topped the ranking on a leisurely 23 minutes.
Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Australia were all well below the world average time.

haha…at least we beat 2 of our neighbours =)

Not all of Today’s Youngsters are Lalas lah!

(Refering to a recent post about youngsters today) i personally think that the writers of this article are way too stereotypical. by using the term “today’s youngsters”, it will generally include all of us, multi-racial, multi-cultured youngsters in malaysia. including all the innocent, and errr, less outstanding individuals like you and me.

Please. NOT ALL of today’s youngsters are lalas-lah.

obviously, the writer(s) of this article are probably either over optimistic, or having a really tough time understanding whats with the lala culture these days, hence coming up with corny conclusions of their own, resulting in self-contradicting points, and the rather misleading standfirst of the article, “They’re not in it for the attention. But today’s youngsters are adopting a culture that has shades of the trends sweeping Japan and Taiwan. And, they are loving every moment of it.”

lala? thought they were some form of clams that we eat.

Jesus Christ’s Descendants are Japanese!

[pic source, head on over for more pictures]

SHINGO VILLLAGE, Japan–Jesus Christ’s direct descendant is a garlic farmer living in northeast Japan, or so residents in this isolated village say.

According to local legend, Jesus escaped here after the Romans tried to crucify him and died a peaceful death at the age of 106 after having fathered three daughters by a Japanese woman.

Whatever one makes of the legend, there must remain fascinating bits of mystery in a Shingo village. For centuries, villagers practiced customs unknown to the rest of Japan. Newborn babies wore swaddling clothes embroidered with a Star of David. Up to about 10 years ago, newborns had a cross painted in black ink on their foreheads.

hmm…intriguing
