I am being sued for upholding my consumer rights

No Tags

Just passing on a letter from another blogger.

“Dear Blogger,

Hello.

My name is Edward Skading, from Selangor, Malaysia. I am writing for your viewpoint and support towards a good cause campaign to protect and uphold our consumer rights.

I am being sued by an arrogant corporate company (F&N Dairies (M) Sdn Bhd) because I exposed a horrible discovery concerning one of their products on my weblog. It is all about my shocking finding of an abnormal substance (mould) in a “Tea Pot” brand, sweeten condensed milk tin-can. You can read the full story (all the correspondence letters) and view photos of the contaminated milk and the disgusting hazardous conditions of F&N Dairies’ plant at my weblog http://consumersrighteousness.blogspot.com/

As a consumer, I am sickened by the fact that we are not provided utmost protection from this sort of situations and whatever consumer rights we have now are defenceless. I also feel that my human rights had been deprived when I am being forced to silence and on top of all, I feel cheated when the company executive responded to my grievances that they are not liable for damaged products in the marketplace. I am only requesting that the company be truthful, reliable and accountable for their mistakes, moreover produce cleaner and safer food. I believe, it is the responsibility of our whole society to protect the rights and benefits of consumers, and all concerned parties should together strive to do the work of standing up for consumer rights, improving the consumption environment, and pushing for faster, better economic and social development.

I sincerely hope you will cover my story on your weblog or your news portal and tell my story to the world. I would greatly value and appreciate your kind support.

If you wish to contact me, please send your email to eddskading@hotmail.com.

Thank you.

Yours truly,

Edward Skading”

the Hardship of an NBA fan in Malaysia

2 matches per week, if you’re lucky theres 3, NBA Action, and NBA Fastbreak, that’s about all you can get if you’re a NBA fan out here in the middle of South East Asia, oh unless you count that crappy NBA Inside Stuff in, which in my opinion has done nothing improve the image of basketball here, in fact it makes it look even worse, not helped by the fact that Ahmad Rashad thinks he is charismatic enough to charm the audiences over here (is he even likable?), the fact that the lack of NBA games over here is making it hard for any of the audience to even determine how many teams there are in the L (thank god for the Internet!) ,

the pathetic schedule

and fact that there are even more ACC basketball on tele than the NBA doesn’t help either, so to the extent that in truth nobody actually know who Gilbert Arenas is, and the average person would only know who Kobe, LeBron (from the Ads), O’Neal (they spell it as O’Neil though), T-Mac, Vince Carter(Karter) is, team wise Lakers and the Chicago Bulls that’s it, i find it sad and disturbing because everyday on tele, i see football almost 24/7 on almost 4 sports channels and even the Australian Open is getting OVER coverage even for the fact that no one here even PLAYS tennis (except for some certain Thais), GET MORE NBA on TV!!!!! that’s what I’m talking about, and stop showing teams like Dallas, Heat, Pistons, Spurs, I’m getting SICK of them, that’s about all they have, in their mindset the Heat is still the marquee team in the NBA, NO dude! they are gone, show the Suns or whatever just not Miami!

BTW - the NBA ads here are awful, wrong team name spelling in the game promo, Boobcats for Bobcats?, and also the halftime shows, like if its a ESPN coverage? u get the Toyota Half-Time show, OH NO!!! not here, they would please themselves to show us repeat features on Dwyane Wade and the Heat’s road to the championship or whatever crap there is

BTW 2 - the fact that the presenters know less NBA knowledge than myself irks me, theres this guy who once said Andre Miller played fr the Kings before he was traded to Denver? terrible and it is always the same woman presenter on tele, I’m sick of her yo! get her off the screen,

Mark Jackson

BTW 3 - i do notice the fact that Mark Jackson is actually the most hilarious analyst among the rest that I’ve saw on tele, the most annoying has to go to Bill Walton and Tom Tolbert, the most boring would be Hubie Brown or maybe Doug Collins, whom both will end up teaching you the correct plays or whatever…my favorite quote of all time comes from Tom Tolbert though it was a bad call by the officials and i think it was Ray Allen who missed the 1st FT and he was like “that’s the God of Basketball evening things up” classic.

First “web-rage” attack in Britian

Paul Gibbons, 47, tracked down John Jones using details obtained online after the pair exchanged insults in an internet chatroom, a court heard.

He travelled 70 miles to Mr Jones’ home in Clacton, Essex, and beat him up with a pickaxe handle in December 2005.

Gibbons, of Southwark, south London, admitted unlawful wounding and will be sentenced on 7 November.

Malaysia International Gourmet Festival Reviews

Pinkpau said:

the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) is a month-long fine-dining event presenting 25 different Festival Menus of different cuisine, from 25 of the countrys top restaurants. (though i must say, the term top restaurants is arguable; i would really like to know what qualifies a restaurant to be part of this elite 25) this year, as im sure most of you would know by now because all the write-ups mention this, restaurants from outside the Klang Valley are also participating, turning what was previously an exclusively-KL epicurean event into one that deems a change in moniker from KLIGF to MIGF.

very excited, Kelvin and i decided to pick our restaurant by process of elimination. (it really gets easier once you remove all the Japanese and Chinese restaurants from your list of options) and after coming down to a final 3, we (okay, I) made the ultimate decision based on the dessert. and so Chalet it was!

…..Palate Cleanser was An Evolution of Red Grape Sorbets. haha can someone explain what the word evolution means here? is it just fancy wordplay or does it have some culinary context that im unaware of? anyway i liked the sorbet, Darwinified or otherwise. the secret ingredient? sour plum….
