The Semi-Value Story

I’ve been living Ipoh for all my youth - 23 years already and still counting. I still know the tales of the Toupee man from Sungai Siput - Samy Vellu. Incidentally, when I read a bit of Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange, I came to understand that the story was based on the his own experience of his wife being a rape victim in Sungai Siput as well! Coincidence.

The newspaper man who would always come to our house to collect the monthly bill always shows his disdain of this guy. Not on the job thing but the fact that he remains the only big race leader to yet hand over the leadership to the younger generation. People have praised Ling Liong Sik, Lim Keng Yaik and even Mahathir for handing the mantle of leadership over to the younger leaders.

But not him.

My 85-year old man too had a disdain of him. Every moment when he sees Samy in the papers he kept saying to me…”That bloody bastard!” That phrase keeps ringing in my head whenever I see a paper article even from the mainstream media that features our guy

Remember Din’s Words!

No wonder I kept saying that this guy is a prime example of dinosaurs in the government who don’t even give damn thing to understand the global changes that are affecting Malaysia as well.

The one thing he said that gave me an idea to write this post is (correct me if I am wrong):

(referring to the man making trouble) “Sack that guy who is also from Kedah!”

Collapse of Law and Order - Forum Report

Of course, the show got kicked off with the showing of the 8-minute footage of the Lingamtape. Some called V.K Lingam as Shockalingam - a nod to a guy killed in Anniyan which everyone was laughing. Sure, the real laughing point is indeed “correct…correct…correct!”

But when I went through the whole thing, I came to realize that I can’t seem to trust the judiciary anymore. If I am to challenge a big government over compensation of damages, I would immediately end up one the losing side because of the intimidation and the partisan decision of judges. Some are pressured by the mob to go with them or face punishment. Which reminds me of what Tony told me of a Shearn Delamore lawyer representing MAS did in the lawsuit against Audra.

Relations with Malaysia require a realistic approach

No Tags

via Jakarta Post:

Recently we were also not satisfied when Malaysia was slow to offer an apology in response to the beating of an Indonesian karate referee in the country. As the argument goes, if we are indeed serumpun countries, Malaysia should have not hesitated to offer an apology.

Why is there such a wide gap in our expectations and perceptions of each other? The problem lies exactly in the use of the serumpun concept. We forget that Indonesia and Malaysia are two sovereign nations with their own national interests. We ignore the fact that Indonesia and Malaysia are two separate and distinct entities. Because of the serumpun concept, we tend to pretend we know each other well.

Playing abang-adik again…now with Indonesia, and we are the adik.

No Tags

Welcome to Mamakk, for those of you who are new here, Mamakk is an online community started by the members of Blorc. (the coolest hosters around).   We blog about a lot of different subjects, food, fun, music, politics, interesting things that we read on the web.  Our users are from across the world, and hopefully with a little luck, and a lot of particiaption this site can become a great online community.

That being said, I’d like to share with you some awesome icons I found on the web.  The are great way to customize your webpage and give it a little extra pizzazz. famfamfam.com has some fabulous little silk icons that you can use. I think they are really neat to add to the backdrop of the meta or as bullets for you lists.

If you like those, you are bound to like these mini pixel icons. Remember they are free to use, but if you are using more than 10 icons, you must give a link back to N.Design Studio.

Here are some nice little colorful feed icons. Find one that matches your site

Finally, these bullets are really cute and will work really well with any of the icons posted above
So get out there and use some icons (and don’t forget to contribute to Mamakk!!).

(ppsssttttt…this belongs in the category for web-design as well, thanks)
