Only 7″ and above need apply!
TrackbackIt was a many first time for me. The first time, watching a fashion show, the first time being backstage watching models getting ready and the first time, being a part of a high profile fashion event. And if you would like to know, models really wear nothing beneath those avant garde couture and slinky expensive dresses. *wink*
However, one thing I don’t quite like is the fact that 80% models hired throughout the show in a fashion week taking place here in Asia, are all Caucasians. It is unfortunate that the standard Asian beauty of slit eyes, tanned skin and dark hair are not appreciated and flaunt in the local scene. I can have a parody of insults towards such discrimination here but maybe, another post. Then again, such mindsets are hard to change and it could only be so, if there’s an effort to change things slowly.
But, if you were to ask me, weather I would want to work in fashion in the near future. I would say, probably no. It’s just too glam and glitzy for me. I love fashion, an uncontested fact, but the fact that beauty and perfection reigns in every corner of it is too much for a small town girl like me.
I am after all, not 7” tall.
